Roope is truly my dream cat. He is social, talkative and playful. He often comes to sleep on my lap and he thinks he should be carried around all the time. He needs a lot of attention; if he feels neglected, he really lets me have it ;-)

He thinks he is the master of the house. If someone is on his seat, he doesn't have any trouble announching it. He's extremely arrogant towars other people, for example my friends. When Tigru and Saga come to greet them, Roope just looks annoyed... But when there's just the two of us, he's a real sweetheart :-)

He is truly a male diva ;-)

When I bought Roope, I hadn't visited a single cat show. I was slightly interested, but despite that, I bought the only cat in the litter that was considered as being pet-quality. (he just charmed me by biting my finger and then falling asleep, looking oh so cute!) Roope was quite skinny as a kitten, but after being neutered, he became a sturdy neuter male. He grew a really nice fur and by the first neuter class cat show, he was a handsome boy. In the beginning I didn't even think Roope was ever going to be EP or even GIP. At least he wasn't ever going to be Best in variety or Nominated, because he was just a pet. I was wrong.. Roope became Premior a few months after turning 1 year, at the same show he was also BIV. Looking back, that was the thing that got the whole thing started. Before that I hadn't planned Roope's "career" very far. At the next day, Roope got his first CAPIB certificate and was also nominated. After that show in Helsinki, we went to Tampere: Roope had his second CAPIB and was also BIV and NOM.

After that Roope went to Tallinn with his breeder. He came back being an IP and he had also been nominated one day. Since that, I have been totally hooked. After that there were some shows in Finland and then a trip to Riga. Roope became Grand International Premier in Riga and the next day he got his first CAPE certificate. The next year, we went to a lot of shows and in April Roope finally became European Premier.

In spite of being a grand diva, Roope doesn't usually show it to the judges. In Jyväskylä and in Turku Roope was at his best behaviour and really charmed the judges for example by rolling on the table. After those shows he got pissed and wasn't as charming any more... For some reason the judges still liked him and he has been BIV and nominated several times... Sometimes some judge has even voted for him on the panel and a few times he lost by one vote! Not bad for a pet ;-) The year 2005 was great for Roope; he was nominated in every show he attended, and every time there were enough cats for the biv, he was the best of those cats.

As Roope has been to several shows throuhg these years, I think it's time to let him retire. Roope only likes to travel if there's just the two of us ;-) so travelling with Saga and Lulu isn't his favourite thing.

Thank you Nina and Joa for this wonderful boy!

Roope was HCM tested in the beginning of 2007 and the result was equivocal. He was re-tested in April 2008 and the result was HCM. Both of his parents were tested in 2007 and both of them had a normal heart.
